California Field Day demonstrations July 17 to 19
Seeing is believing in many endeavors. Renowned manure management company PCE Pumping Systems is letting attendees ‘see’ how to address manure lagoon management and direct injection application at hands-on classes in Merced, California.
Held at a working dairy, the demonstrations will address the considerable solids build-up in a manure lagoon, and how to effectively manage the extraction and use of the solids. The training will highlighting the effectiveness of using PCE’s agitation boat to create a homogeneous nutrient mixture in the lagoon, and then quickly moving that rich nutrient through hose to the field for direct-injection and precise field placement. With high fuel and fertilizer prices, as well as increasing regulations, this innovative process can help save time and money for California dairymen.
Topics covered will include:
- Agitation boats
- Direct injection
- Manure management
- Liquid transfer systems
- Odor mitigation
- Dragline land applications
- Solids clean out
- And more
Training will showcase the nutrient being pumped out a heavily laden lagoon and pumped over a mile to be precision direct injected into soil using GPS based technology. For more information on the demonstration, please visit PCE’s landing page: http://www.puckenterprises.com/CAFieldDay.html
Lloyd Spanke, Cornell’s Midwest Regional manager will be at all three days of the demonstration, and able to answer manure and other pump related questions.
PCE also has plans to set up field demonstrations throughout the fall to showcase this innovate system. We’ll bring you those dates and locations on the Cornell blog when they become available.
