4th OF JULY HOLIDAY

Cornell Pump Company will be closed July 4 and 5, 2013 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

We hope that you enjoy a safe and happy 4th of July. We will reopen regular hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time) on Monday July 8, 2013.


Four fun facts about the 4th of July:
1) In 1776, it was estimated that 2.5 million people lived in the newly independent nation—there are an estimated 314 million people in the United States now.

2) John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct date on which to celebrate the birth of American independence(based on adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the delegates), and would reportedly turn down invitations to appear at July 4th events in protest.

3) It is estimated that Americans attending barbeques on the 4th of July will consuming 150 million hot dogs.

4) In 1870, the U.S. Congress made July 4th a federal holiday; in 1941, the provision was expanded to grant a paid holiday to all federal employees.
